Outline of workshop
Week one
5 days of 1.5-2 hours of introduction to Cultural anthropology, history, use, application, track record. Participant observation understanding is the goal of the first week, in other words, what can participant observation do to promote the objectives of social situation management. For example, how can teachers teach with more control and better outcomes if they know what students are doing in classrooms and in other settings when they are being students.
Part of each day, at the end will be devoted to encouraging writing narrative of what participants see, perhaps every day.
Week 2
Review with me their observations in one on one meetings.
Goal: for teachers to write narrative descriptions of student behavior. Journals in America are hungry for such papers.
